Dar es Salaam. Miss Ilala zone, Salha Israel (18) has won this year Miss Tanzania beauty pageant held at the Mlimani City hall.Salha beat other 29 contestants to take new model car, Jeep Patriot worth sh. 72 million and Shs 8 million in the historical pageant since the start of the beauty competition in 1994. In 2003, Sylvia Bahame of Temeke zone won Nisan Hardbody worth Sh55 million and Sh7 million cash. Salha becomes the first winner to pocket such a huge amount of money. It was not easy for salha who is also Miss Ilala to win the crown and a ticket to represent the country in the 61st Miss World beauty contest scheduled for November 6 at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London. Her win didn’t come at easy, she faced a number of other beauties but her accuracy in answering a number of questions from the judges including how to fight corruption in the country proved a turning point to her winning the crown.
